Mediterranean Sea. A small fishing schooner picks up a man at sea. Having brought him on board, a doctor undertakes to examine him and finds two wounds on him, presumably from a pistol, and a small cache and microfilm implanted into his body. And when the rescued person regains consciousness, it turns out that he does not remember anything.  Gradually, following the clues found, in particular the bank account number on the microfilm, the hero learns that his name is Jason Bourne. He also learns that he is a secret agent and has some information, because of which he is being mercilessly hunted. This is how the cycle about a lone war against the CIA begins.
