The Harry Bosch series of novels is a series of gritty police thrillers. The plots are varied - here you have serial murders, and bank robberies, and competent setups of good guys, and drugs, and corrupt cops, and just murders (committed not by a maniac, but by completely sane citizens for completely material reasons), so everyone can find something for themselves history to taste. For example, I especially liked Blonde in Concrete (serial murders), The Last Coyote (Harry investigates a thirty-year-old crime - the murder of his own mother) and Darker Than Night (a series of murders connected to Harry through the paintings of his famous namesake). Of course, it’s more logical to read in order, it’s easier to follow the lives and relationships of the characters and it’s clearer where the ears come from this or that action, but the stories are not connected to each other, so if you don’t like one book, you can safely move on to the next ones, perhaps , their stories will appeal to you more. The atmosphere of the novels is invariably gloomy, partly due to the personality of Bosch himself, partly due to the fact that we are talking about crimes, the origins of which are all imaginable and unimaginable human vices, and this is what good cops like Harry are forced to fight every single day. The nuances of police work and the details of crimes are described quite thoroughly; also in the novels there is a place for intrigues, relationships, and personal dramas of generally good people who, unnoticed by themselves, switched to the “dark side of the force”, and unexpected turns of events... unexpected twists By the way, Connelly loves them very much and they work out well for him. I am glad that not all police officers are depicted as white fluffy little paws; among them there are also those whom you want to hit on the head with a shovel and bury them under the nearest bush. True, in the context of this, it seems a little strange that the Internal Investigation Service is described by the author as a kind of bullshit, ruining cops for no reason. Well, what about without her - without control over people who know power and weapons? Contents: 1. Black echo. 2. Black ice. 3. Blonde in concrete. 4. The last coyote. 5.
