Businessman Anton Okhotkin dies from electric shock in the apartment of his kept woman Evgenia Yudaeva. The incident is classified as an accident, but operative Grigory Kustarev believes that the businessman was killed. He begins an unofficial investigation, but fails to achieve any tangible results. The fact is that a real carnival of death suddenly begins around Evgenia Yudaeva: first her new lover dies, then her friend, then her old acquaintance...
