Evgeny Primakov, by the nature of his activities, was one of the most secret people in the country. He started out as a journalist and was the director of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations, which during the Soviet era prepared closed reports for the country's leadership. At the turn of the era from totalitarianism to democracy, he was “thrown” by M. Gorbachev and B. Yeltsin into the Foreign Intelligence Service, and then into the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As prime minister, he was called upon to save the country after the 1998 default. Primakov passed everything stated in this book through the prism of personal perception, knowing in advance and without fear that not everything said would be accepted by the readers.
