To destabilize the British economy, pay for important imports and work for German intelligence agents during World War II, an operation to mass produce counterfeit banknotes was developed and secretly launched in Germany. Its leader, SS Sturmbannführer Bernhard Kruger, selected a team of engravers, printers, artists and counterfeiters from among Jewish prisoners from concentration camps. At the end of the project, the Nazis were going to destroy all participants in Operation Bernhard, but did not have time, the prisoners were released by American troops. Anthony Piri made an attempt to reconstruct the events of this Nazi adventure.
