An atomic war began on Earth, and all the colonists were recalled from Mars, leaving only one person left - Barton. Trying to break his loneliness, he begins to record his voice and populates Mars with thousands of Bartons, he records all the possible answers to his questions. At some point, he stops and programs tape recorders and telephones so that the next bell will ring when he turns eighty... The story was published in the magazine "Rovesnik" No. 5, 1991.
