Leo Male published his first detective novel, 120 Station Street, in 1942. Critics of the time called this publication “a stunning invasion that brought a new tone to this genre of literature. In 1948, Leo Male became the first winner of the Grand Prize for Detective Literature, and in 1958, the Great Prize for Black Humor crowned his series of novels “New Mysteries of Paris”. The central character of Leo Male’s works is Nestor Burma - a detective-ram who declares himself that he is “the man who knocks out any secret.”
