Abandoned virgin soil is a reference to Soviet literature and, in a sense, a “response” to the Russian nomenklatura, which decided to deprive rural settlements of the possibility of self-government. Everything is natural. Technical progress - and you don’t need hundreds of hands in the buckwheat fields, a dozen are enough. Why then the village? The villagers are disappearing as a species, as a way of life. Schools and rural clubs, paramedic stations, and libraries were closed. It was the turn of the village councils. This is modernity. To paraphrase the film: “Villages? There are no villagers in America” - “But we exist” Contains obscene language.
