The book is dedicated to one of the most interesting historical figures of the Middle Ages - Charlemagne, who stood at the origins of feudal statehood in Western Europe. All his efforts were subordinated to the main goal - the creation of a unified Carolingian empire. He reorganized the army, formed an administrative system headed by educated professional officials, and introduced continuity of power. The activities of Charlemagne, which contributed to the development of science and changes in the church sphere, left a deep mark on history. He achieved posthumous fame thanks to the “Song of Roland” - an epic poem based on the legendary campaigns of Charles.
