“Death in a Lawyer's Robe” is the fifth novel in the series about the famous detective Lord Powerscourt (the Slovo publishing house has already introduced the previous ones to Russian readers). During a festive banquet at the London legal corporation Queen's Inn, the brilliant metropolitan lawyer Alexander Dontsey dies. Poisoning - this is the conclusion of medical experts. And soon Dontsy's friend and colleague, Mr. Stewart, is killed. Lord Powerscourt is invited to investigate the murder case. Among the suspects is a swindler, the creator of a financial pyramid, and a jealous wife, and a charming mistress, and her husband - an old sick cuckold, and, on top of everything else, a great expert in poisons... Which of them is the criminal? Trying to answer this question, the detective himself is in mortal danger. But, as always in the novels of David Dickinson, justice will prevail and vice will certainly be punished.

«Смерть у адвокатській мантії» - це справжнє свято для любителів детективного жанру. Девід Дікінсон знову радує нас неймовірно заплутаним сюжетом, в якому кожен персонаж має свої таємниці та мотиви. Лорд Пауерскорт, як завжди, вражає своєю інтуїцією та дедуктивними здібностями, а його розслідування вбивств адвокатів тримає в напрузі до останньої сторінки. Чудово прописані персонажі, кожен з яких має свій унікальний характер і історію, роблять цю книгу ще більш захоплюючою. Атмосфера святкового банкету, що перетворюється на сцену злочину, додає особливого шарму. Дікінсон вміло грає на контрастах між елегантністю адвокатського світу та жорстокістю злочину. Я б рекомендував цю книгу всім, хто любить детективи, адже вона не тільки розважає, але й змушує задуматися про справедливість і моральність. Чекаю на наступні пригоди лорда Пауерскорта!
