The dictionary is the first attempt at a consolidated presentation of data on mythical characters and mythological symbols, as well as on Zoroastrian religious terms preserved in medieval Iranian (Pahlavi) literature. The material is presented in the form of dictionary entries, including the Avestan name of a name or term, its etymology, epithets of names, plots and contexts in which characters and terms are mentioned. The Dictionary is based on Pahlavi works contained in four editions published by the author.
