For the first time, the Russian reader is offered selected translations from the legacy of Muhya ad-Din Muhammad Ibn al-Arabi (1165-1240), an outstanding thinker of the Muslim Middle Ages. The presented works introduce the teachings of the “Greatest Teacher” (ash-Shaykh al-Akbar) about Man , with metaphysics and mystical (Sufi) worldview, which had a huge influence on philosophers of the East and West. This publication includes translations of selected treatises by Ibn al-Arabi (including one chapter from the “Meccan Revelations” - the most important and final work of the Teacher) , published in Russian for the first time. The translations are provided with comments and preceded by a detailed introduction, they allow the reader to form a complete and deep idea of the Sufi philosophical tradition in general and of its brightest representative Ibn al-Arabi.
