The novel takes place in a fictional world, close to the real one, whose heroes encounter supernatural phenomena and creatures... A world hidden from us, which could be real, is distinguished by the presence of witchcraft, mythical creatures (dragons, centaurs, gnomes, angels, mermaids ), ghosts, and other fantastic entities. Mr. Thomas Whaley witnesses the unjust execution of Jim Robinson, and this incident has a detrimental effect on the rest of his life. One after another, four of his children pass away, his business collapses, everything goes wrong for him fate. Not understanding what is happening, he falls into depression. But one day, in his house, the ghost of that same Jim Robinson is discovered, who tells the owner that it was he who contributed to the death of his children and that in the near future he (the ghost) will take care of his last daughter Corinne and his wife. Thomas decides to commit suicide in order to prevent the ghost Jim from realizing his plans, and he himself finds himself in the world of ghosts. He finds his dead children there and discovers that the world of ghosts has its own life and its own problems... Some time later, they meet the ghost Magic Master, who, being a real magician, introduces them to the world of magic and helps them become the same. And... real adventures begin, interesting and dangerous, in the end of which they will even have to prevent a war unleashed by the ghost of Ahuitzotl himself (the Aztec Emperor) against the entire world of ghosts.
