“The Telescope of Wisdom,” written in 1987 by the Tibetan Buddhist scholar and yogi Karma Trinley Rinpoche, is a line-by-line commentary on the “Letter to a Friend” by the famous philosopher Nagarjuna (2nd century), creator of the Middle Way (Skt. Madhyamaka). Karma Trinley provides brief explanations of each of the 123 verses of this important classic. Letter to a Friend was written by Nagarjuna as an instruction to one of the Indian kings and contains practical advice on how a lay person should practice the Buddhist Great Vehicle (Skt. Mahayana) - the path of love and wisdom, the accumulation of good deeds and higher knowledge.
