It's a Stupid Thing to Think is not just a memoir of a famous person, or, as Carlin himself said, a quasi-biography, it is a practical guide for any aspiring comedian (how perhaps not to live, but exactly how to joke). In 1993, George Carlin asked his friend and bestselling author Tony Hendra to help him write his autobiography. Over the course of nearly fifteen years, numerous conversations, many of which were recorded, discussed Carlin's personal life, career milestones, and evolution as an artist. When Carlin died in June 2008 at the age of seventy-one and the book was still unpublished, Hendra decided to finish it as his friend would have wanted. Contains strong language. PDF A4 format retains the publisher's design.
