In the light of new challenges engulfing modern society, the concept of man as such, as well as the problem of his interaction with the arts, exact sciences and humanities, have undergone significant changes. This process, called the "posthuman condition", is influenced by neoliberal economics, global capitalism, migration policies, technological progress, environmental problems, the fight against terrorism, etc. "The Posthuman: A Glossary" is a collection of key terms of posthumanity in the context of contemporary art and intellectual sphere. It covers broad topics such as the Anthropocene, Capitalocene, ecology, digital activism, algorithmic culture, and the nonhuman. The glossary provides concise definitions of these concepts and explores artistic, intellectual, and activist approaches to addressing the complex issues of the “posthuman condition.” The collection helps to understand the changes that have occurred in art in the context of contemporary events, connecting various disciplines, audiences and critical communities. Rosi Braidotti (b. 1954) is a philosopher and feminist theorist, her theoretical work influenced the emergence of posthumanism. Maria Hlavajova (b. 1971) - curator and theorist, founder and artistic director of the BAK space (Utrecht).
