A lighthouse keeper is burned alive at the top of a tower, around which the sea raged...An archery enthusiast is killed by an arrow sent from the sky...A man died of thirst a few centimeters from a jug of water...There are so many secrets and mysteries in these crimes that even the best Scotland Yard detectives shrug their shoulders and classify the murders as incredible. The killer himself is no less original. He sends pictures to the police in which he reports on impending crimes. Each murder is a show, a pre-planned mise-en-scène, the author of which always strictly fulfills his promises made on canvas. Each time, having the date, place or name of the victim, Scotland Yard is unable to prevent the tragedy. The detectives turn for help to Owen Burns, a talented detective with extraordinary deductive abilities and highly developed intuition. Owen, being a true esthete, admires the art of the criminal. He accepts this challenge and tries to solve both the logical and artistic mysteries of the killer.
