The book by Nick Jens, an Alaskan wildlife photographer, is an incredible and largely philosophical story about a special black wolf who showed unprecedented warmth and affection for people. Romeo, a wild beast who chose the outskirts of the city of Juneau as his home, initially caused a storm of controversy among its residents. However, over time, seeing the wolf playing with the family dogs, coming out to say hello to people he knew, or taking them for a walk, they accepted and fell in love with him. After spending six years living next to Juneau residents, Romeo became an unofficial symbol of the city. But not only. It also became a symbol of the increasingly fading connection between man and the world of pristine, wild nature.
