Youth is a time of gaining life experience: the first truancy from school, the first love... the first time a gun is put to your head. After being taken hostage during a robbery at a local store, 17-year-old Edie realizes that her attitude towards life has changed. Not wanting to put up with snobbery and bullying at her private school, the girl transfers to a local one. Here she meets John, who risked his life to save her. After what happened, Edie goes into all sorts of serious ways, and John tries to settle down. He decides to change - he comes to class on time and thinks about the future instead of numerous parties and drug dealing with his older brother. A subtle connection grows between them as John tries to keep Edie out of trouble and pushes her horizons. The relationship becomes more complicated when he offers to be her first boyfriend. Edie and John find themselves in danger again, but now they have something to lose.
