The action of the novel “The Finnish Sun” takes place in one house - in one world closed on its axis. The house is located in an abstract Volga city. Abstract, but well recognizable, “Volga Finns” live in the house. Each of the heroes, who bear sonorous Finnish names for a reason, has their own story and their own destiny. They work and study, communicate and make friends, fall in love and quarrel, try to survive and sometimes even commit terrible crimes. But the more crimes there are, the more the axis connecting the residents is shaken... However, the investigative parables that make up the novel are quite applicable to any house in any city. The author’s imaginative world extends far beyond the boundaries of any one specific place. Ildar Abuzyarov is a winner of the Pushkin Prize (2011). His novel “Agrobreaking Albany Style” is a finalist for the Bunin Prize (2012), the novel “Mutabor” is a laureate of the Kataev Prize (2012) and a finalist for the National Bestseller Award (2013). In 2006, two stories - “Mail” and “Moor” - were shortlisted for the Prize. Yuri Kazakov. The novel “HUSH” was included in the long lists of the “National Bestseller” and “Big Book” awards. In 2014, a full-length feature film was made based on Ildar Abuzyarov’s story “A Romance with the Victim.”
