This edition is the publication of a Russian translation of the main part of the Persian historical work of Malik Shah-Husayn Sistani “Ta'rikh-i ihya al-muluk”, dedicated mainly to the history of Sistan of the 15th - first quarter of the 17th century. This part is, as it were, a chronological continuation of the story about the events set out in the anonymous “Ta'rikh-i Sistan”, the translation of which we published earlier, and brought there to the first quarter of the 14th century.

“Ta'rikh -i ihya al-muluk" is an important source for studying the political, socio-economic and military history, geography and culture of one of the most ancient Iranian regions - Sistan of the 15th - first quarter of the 17th century. The author of the work is one of the Sistan maliks, who considered themselves heirs and successors of the Saffarid family. The monument contains a wide range of information on the history of Safavid Iran and its provinces in Central Asia and Transcaucasia.
