N. Chukovsky is a novelist, short story writer, poetic translator, son of the famous children's writer Korney Chukovsky. Having gone through the war as a front-line correspondent, he knew well the exploits of military pilots. It is no coincidence that his best novel, “The Baltic Sky,” talks about them. This is a story about those who fought, fell in love and gave their lives in the fight for their Motherland, about how faith in Victory was strengthened, about the legendary squadron of I-16 fighters under the command of Captain Rassokhin. In 1961, a film of the same name was created based on the novel with the participation of Pyotr Glebov, Mikhail Ulyanov, Rolan Bykov, Mikhail Kozakov, Lyudmila Gurchenko, Oleg Borisov, Vladislav Strzhelchik, Pavel Luspekayev and others.
