Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (1860–1904) is a Russian writer, prose writer, playwright, classic of world literature. The book includes the most famous plays by A.P. Chekhov's "The Seagull", "Uncle Vanya", "The Cherry Orchard". At first, “The Seagull” failed, but two years later, staged by the Moscow Art Theater, the play was a stunning success and became a symbol of the theater. “Uncle Vanya” and “The Cherry Orchard” were also staged here. Plays by A.P. Chekhov's performances are on the stages of theaters all over the world. Perhaps the secret of such popularity is in the author’s special view of human relationships and the special way of depicting them in a literary text. “Let everything on stage be as complex and at the same time as simple as in life,” said Chekhov. “People have lunch, they just have lunch, and at this time their happiness is formed and their lives are broken.”
