Among the numerous publications about Königsberg published so far, there was no book describing the 700-year history of the city both before 1945 and its development after the Second World War, as well as the fate of the expelled Königsbergers. This Russian-language publication fills this gap. The first German edition of this book appeared in 1990, the second in 1992. The Russian-language edition is dedicated by the authors, publisher and publishing house to German-Russian cooperation for the benefit of the city on the Pregel and its inhabitants.
