The new book in the series is dedicated to the siege of Leningrad - one of the most horrific pages of the Great Patriotic War. Now it is difficult to imagine the hardships that befell the residents of the city on the Neva and the courage of its defenders. The capture of Leningrad was an integral part of the Barbarossa plan, which envisaged the complete defeat of the Soviet Union in 3–4 months. But these plans were not destined to come true. The Soviet people bravely met the enemy. For 900 days and nights they held back the fascist troops. The book uses documents, statistical data and photographs, many of them are published for the first time.
