February 20, 1933. Harsh Berlin winter. 24 of the richest German industrialists were secretly invited to the Reichstag. The National Socialist Party and its Fuhrer need money. And the German capitalists give them without complaint. In exchange for this, hundreds of thousands of prisoners from concentration camps will soon be herded into their factories - free labor. Out of hundreds of thousands, only a few dozen will survive. March 12, 1938. On the agenda is the annexation of Austria. Chancellor Schuschnigg, like the tycoons of German business five years ago, out of fear of losing his position, prefers to submit to force and play the role imposed on him. From now on, the Nazis rule in Austria. And while Hitler, with the vile silence of those who did not dare to resist him, decides the fate of Europe, killing people and turning them into obedient victims in concentration camps, the artist Louis Soutter draws one of his gloomy dances on a paper tablecloth . Ugly, creepy puppets wriggle on the horizon of the universe, where the black sun sets. And these dark little men, bending like twigs, were harbingers of trouble. The artist felt something that the powers that be did not understand - or did not want to understand.
