They are threatened by an alien invasion, but, by the will of their creators, they cannot harm any living organism. Plautina was one of the noema. Now, isolated in a biological body, possessed by mysterious memories that seem not to belong to her, she, together with Otho, the noem, for whom his own glory is above all, finds himself in Urbs, the center of power of the new society. But the conspiracy she uncovers there exceeds her worst fears. Otho and Plautina are forced to flee, and now on board the giant ship "Transitoria" they set off on a metaphysical journey, the goal of which is none other than the return of the last Man.
