The text was written in support of a competition on the STIKS universe, which is held on the Lit-Era portal. I, as a person with a biological education, really liked the world of Styx with its detailed ecology. There is a food chain here that does not raise questions: a constant influx of fresh material, a hierarchy of predators into which all creatures, including humans, fit well. It’s written so authentically that one’s hands are itching to continue. And develop the author’s ideas into hypotheses as to what is behind all this. What is the biology, life cycle, and reproductive characteristics of those creatures that are described in the world. Particularly interesting is the biology of its main “hero” - a parasite that infects new arrivals.
