The author of this book is a doctor of medical sciences, professor, and has lived in the USA for more than thirty years. He graduated from the university with a degree in journalism. He writes poetry and prose, published in Russia and in Russian-language literary magazines in the USA. The book “Long Flight” includes novels and stories of different genres - this is the action-packed story “An Angel Will Blow on Thursday,” in which the author wrote long before the tragic events of September 11, 2001 as if he foresaw an attack on New York, this is both a sad lyrical sketch about the intertwining of destinies “Red Cat”, and full of tragedy, almost a documentary story “Echelon to the North”. The book ends with a story-parable that makes you think about whether a person can always recklessly turn to God with his requests. The heroes of most of V. Bernstein's works are both Americans and Russian emigration of the last wave. The stories written out in detail, sometimes with photographic precision, create a real picture of life in American society at the turn of the century.
