On January 26, 1996, 1984 Olympic champion and world freestyle wrestling champion David Schultz was shot at point-blank range by philanthropist and philanthropist John DuPont, heir to the founders of the DuPont Corporation. Having gunned down the pride of sporting America in front of his wife, John Du Pont barricaded himself in his luxurious Foxcatcher estate and spent two days negotiating with the police (whom he also sponsored) to surrender. This story shocked the country and did not leave the front pages for a long time. The brother of the late champion, Mark Schultz, also a wrestler and also an Olympic champion, recalls the circumstances of the tragedy, the story of growing up, victories and defeats of two outstanding athletes, consistently reconstructing the entire chain of events that led to a bloody finale. John Dupont became the richest murderer in the world - the court found him guilty, while at the same time declaring him crazy. What was going on in the head of an extravagant, ambitious, selfish billionaire who, having failed to become famous for his personal sporting achievements, decided to try on the shine of other athletes' gold medals? It is impossible to answer this question precisely, but no one has come closer to the answer than Mark Schultz.
