This book is the first biography of Nina Berberova. As a result of many years of work in the archives, the author managed to decipher the most important of the considerable number of “omissions” (in the words of Berberova herself), which inevitably intrigued the readers of her autobiographical work “My Italics”. The author pays special attention to the four decades of Berberova’s life in America that remain outside the scope of the narrative, which are extremely eventful both personally and professionally.
