In this book, military historian A.S. Gasparyan talks about pages of the history of the White movement and the Russian diaspora that are completely unknown to the general reader. The main attention is paid to the formation of the Russian All-Military Union (ROVS), biographies of its leaders and active figures. In fact, for the first time in Russian historiography, an attempt was made to understand what the EMRO counterintelligence, the mysterious “Inner Line,” was. The author examines the relationship of the EMRO with other military and political organizations of the Russian emigration, traces the stages of the struggle of the Soviet special services against the EMRO, including the kidnapping of generals A.P. Kutepov and E.K. Miller, tells about the dramatic fate of the legendary singer N.V. Plevitskaya and finally makes a sensational conclusion: the famous white general N.V. Skoblin was never, contrary to popular belief, an agent of Soviet intelligence.
