The famous scientist and revolutionary, member of the Executive Committee of the People's Will, honorary academician Nikolai Aleksandrovich Morozov (1854–1946) published in 1924–1932. a multi-volume study “Christ” in which traditional ideas about the ancient history of mankind are radically revised. Morozov's provisions were completely rejected by historians, essentially, without any analysis, and it is clear why. The author became acquainted with Morozov's work in 1965, but his attempts to discuss his considerations with professional historians led nowhere. It all ended with more or less vulgar swearing and statements like “this can’t happen, because this can never happen!” L.N. Gumilyov reacted most politely, declaring: “We, historians, do not meddle in mathematics and ask you, mathematicians, not to meddle in history!” He is right in principle - science should be developed by specialists and only specialists, but at the same time specialists must clearly and convincingly answer the perplexed questions of laymen and explain to them what they are wrong about. This is exactly what the author could not get from specialist historians. M.M. Postnikov had to figure out for himself what was going on here, and gradually he came to the conclusion that Morozov was right in many ways and it was not Morozov who was wrong, but the science of history, which is somewhere then in the 16th century it took a wrong turn as a result of the work of Skalter and Petavius. Based on the results of this research, the outstanding mathematician, Lenin Prize laureate, Professor Mikhail Mikhailovich Postnikov read (to a group of mathematicians including A.T. Fomenko, A.S. Mishchenko and others) a series of lectures on ancient history, on the basis of which the manuscript of this book appeared in 1977.
