In the book of Princeton University psychology and neuroscience professor Michael Graziano, author of the already famous theory of attention circuitry, a new theory of consciousness is presented. According to her, what we call consciousness is actually a model of our own psyche. Graziano argues that it is natural for humans to create such patterns—even in relation to inanimate objects. The author puts forward a hypothesis of the origin of consciousness in the evolutionary series, describes, along with real ones, several intellectual experiments, dwells in detail on the phenomenon of social consciousness and proposes a scenario for the intravital transfer of personality to artificial media for posthumous existence.
