Ladies and gentlemen, with great pride we present to your attention a new special project of “Sputnik and Pogrom” - the trilogy “Fortress Slavyansk” about the heroic defense of the glorious city in the spring and summer of 2014. The material was prepared by our regular author, military historian Evgeny Norin, familiar to you, first of all, for his grandiose materials about the First World War. In this trilogy, we tried to consider the siege and battles in Slavyansk as detached as possible, not from the standpoint of ideology, but precisely as a military confrontation in all its development and dynamics, showing you to the best of our modest strength that in our time there are truly epic conflicts that amaze the imagination not only with their scale, but also with the skill of the commanders, the valor of ordinary soldiers, as well as the scope and skill of military operations.
