This book is dedicated to the history of the origin of the idea of combat railway missile systems, the epic of their creation in the USSR, their service and liquidation. These complexes were one of the outstanding achievements of rocket and space technology in our country. The author of the book, Vladimir Sergeevich Mikhailov, is a full member of the Russian Academy of Cosmonautics named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky, laureate of the Russian Government Prize. From the beginning of 1978, as a leading specialist, then head of the scientific and technical department in the head 1 Main Directorate of the Ministry of General Engineering of the USSR, which was engaged in the creation of rocket and space technology, he was directly responsible for the creation of the RT-23 family of strategic ballistic missiles, including combat railway complexes with RT-23 UTTH (“Well done”) missiles.
