In this book, the author tells us the story of his life. He grew up as a barefoot boy in a remote Udmurt village, but dreamed of driving trains. Vitaly Nikolaevich Fedorov carefully preserved in his memory and transferred to paper the general atmosphere of the thirties-sixties of the twentieth century, paying special attention to the little details of everyday life. He described the impact the war had on the fate of ordinary people, how big politics interfered in their lives. The book uses photographs from the author’s personal archive.
