Prechensk was a cute provincial town, literally saturated with culture. Next to it was the dacha village of Lira, where plots were given to honored artists of the USSR. Directors, poets, and artists became frequent guests of Prirechensk. Among them was director Pavel Pechersky. Maestro, as everyone called him... He gathered around him guys with a creative streak. He staged performances with them, groomed and cherished them. But when his main talent, the sweet boy Rodya Eskin, committed suicide by throwing himself from an old water tower, the studio was closed. Pechersky hid from everyone in his country house, but almost twenty years later the police came to him again...
