The book contains a moderately simplified presentation of the basic principles and concepts of theosophy and mysticism in comparison with the usual materialistic ideas, and it is thus actually a commentary on the “Secret Doctrine” of H.P. Blavatsky. The author and scientific editor of the book spoke in favor of the anonymity of its publication. Such a desire, in their opinion, corresponds to the usual ethics of occultists and indicates that they do not pretend to be the “discoverers” of mystical truths, but are only their compilers, seeking to take into account the views of modern readers and thereby facilitate their perception of theosophy set forth in “ Secret Doctrine." At the end of the book, basically for the same purposes, there is a biographical sketch about E.P. Blavatsky.
