The anthology “Andrei Bely: pro et contra” brings together the various points of view of contemporaries on the largest symbolist writer and on the place he occupied in Russian culture. The book consists of articles, essays, and reviews by major writers, publicists, critics, philosophers of the first third of the 20th century, as well as little-known authors, which together make it possible to recreate the general picture of the perception of Andrei Bely’s work, to outline the contours of the image of the writer that was formed thanks to his diverse interpretations . A significant part of the materials included in the Anthology are extracted from periodicals of the 1900-1920s. and has never been reprinted.
