The Russian North is a merciless and stunningly beautiful world! There is snow here even in summer, and the winds over the hills do not subside for a second. Waging a war in such conditions is a task bordering on madness. End of June 1941. Mountain riflemen of the elite division "Edelweiss" are rushing to the main outpost of the Northern Fleet - Murmansk. Lieutenant-border guard Alexei Rechkin, at the head of a small group of Red Army soldiers, managed to briefly slow down the rapid advance of the German rangers. The remaining surrounded fighters held a key position under constant shelling and bombing until their meager supplies of ammunition, water and food were completely exhausted. And most importantly, they have lost hope of help. Alexei decides to break through to his own, trying to carry out the wounded. And he himself remains to cover their retreat.
