The book is a collection of fourteen stories. The main characters of thirteen of them are girls who are forced to solve problems that are not always “childish.” Their search for their place in the “adult world” can be considered a kind of red thread. So, for example, in the story “Ski Ballad,” the teenager Vika, who dreamed of sports, unexpectedly faced opposition from her mother, thinks about what caring for another really means, and what she wants to achieve in life by getting on skis. In the story “Papa, give me some kitty!” shows the building of a close relationship between a five-year-old girl and her father. But “The Black Ribbon” uses a paradoxical example to tell the story of a son’s love for his old mother. The collection may be of interest both to adults, who do not always see people similar to themselves in the younger generation, and to teenagers, for whom it is important not to isolate themselves in voluntary loneliness. This loneliness can be forced, like a disease. But there is a cure for it!
