Maria, under pain of a tribunal, manages to take her son out of besieged Leningrad. She will go through the war as a soldier-miner in the engineering troops of the Leningrad Front, being in the Pulkovo Heights area. The work tells the story of patriotism and dedication, fortitude and perseverance of a woman, mother, soldier.
