Mikhail Aleksandrovich Bakunin (1814–1876) is one of the most prominent personalities in the history of the anarchist movement, a revolutionary populist, a talented thinker and a participant in several foreign uprisings. Being an irreconcilable critic of Marx’s ideas, Bakunin opposed the rule of elites of all kinds, the enslavement of people state-bureaucratic apparatus and believed that the management of society should be carried out from the bottom up.
