I have been living in Spain since 2000, and for the last ten years I have been working as a tour guide in the cities of southern Spain (Seville, Granada, Ronda, etc.). I have long noticed that many interesting historical facts are extremely scarce, so I decided “ to ennoble" them, providing them with romantic details, thereby transferring them to the category of legends, tales and parables. I have repeatedly told tourists from the book most of the works on excursions. My stories often concern famous places, historical and cultural monuments, and therefore I paid special attention to the inscriptions on buildings, tombstones, hence the title of the book, because the profession of the year is to bring stones to life.
