The stubborn beauty Pannonika - simply Nika to those close to her - was born in 1913 into a family famous not only for its wealth, but also for its amazing destiny. In just five generations, the Rothschilds rose from the poverty of Frankfurt's Jew Lane to the luxurious life of British aristocrats. Having started going out into the world, Nika met Baron Koenigswarter, who taught her how to fly an airplane, married him and was transported to the other side of the English Channel. With the onset of the war, she took her small children to England, and soon she was already fighting in Africa in the ranks of the Free French.
