The Baltic Saga is a novel about three generations of a St. Petersburg-Leningrad family associated with the Baltic Fleet throughout almost the entire twentieth century. A wide panorama of historical events begins with the Kronstadt rebellion of 1921 - it, like an unexpected echo, is reflected in the destinies of the heroes of the novel. The most important stages of the battle in the Baltic and Lenfront are recreated - the tragic transition of the fleet from Tallinn to Kronstadt, the fierce struggle of the marines near Leningrad, the heroic breakthroughs of submarines through the mined Gulf of Finland into the Baltic, and their torpedo attacks. But this is not a war chronicle - the acute drama of the events does not overshadow the people. Lively characters, difficult destinies, rivalry in love. The plot tension does not weaken in the post-war period. Perestroika, reforms, the collapse of the Soviet system - the heroes of the novel have different attitudes towards these fateful events. Disputes, differences of opinion - everything is very difficult. But above all this is the front-line naval brotherhood.
