What is the world like after the Apocalypse? This question worries many science fiction authors. Hundreds of books describe how people who survived a global catastrophe try to survive. The book you are about to read tells not about the first attempts at survival, but about humanity adapting to new conditions. This is what the authors imagine the world of the future to be like: a lifeless land with domes scattered here and there, under which people, millions of people, live. Incredible miracles of science and technology, but also constant monitoring of every action and even word of any of the inhabitants of these islands of life. As one of the book’s characters said: “Humanity, closed by ecological domes, was slowly going crazy. Humanity equalized its children, emasculating the differences between them.” Under one of the hoods, among the five million inhabitants, live six teenage friends - the main characters of the book. Everyone has their own inner world, their own thoughts and aspirations, sometimes incredibly large-scale, sometimes a little chaotic, and often very mundane, as is the case with normal teenagers. And these children would have lived peacefully, without any major shocks, if they had not been drawn to take part in a widely advertised virtual game with the self-explanatory name “Games of Death.” This game is not one of the modern primitive computer games played by children and adults, because we are not talking about our time, but about the distant future. In the distant future, completely new technologies for similar games have been developed, where everything is Almost real. Exactly ALMOST. What if we assume this: a computer virus has crept into the game? We know what a virus can do in our modern, imperfect computers. But what will happen when a special virus, the nature of which the reader learns from the book, penetrates the game? After all, around the world, SIX BILLION PEOPLE, mostly teenagers, should participate in this game, that is, the future of humanity. What if an all-powerful virus makes the game not almost, but truly real, so that death games turn into real death? Or maybe he will aim at something bigger, at the entire human civilization? You will learn from the book how to live and survive in this dangerous game, which selected only the strongest and wisest, and also learn about what this game gave to six teenagers.
