Book of Doctor History. sciences, prof. N. L. Zhukovskaya is a collection of articles written from 1969 to 2011. They are devoted to the problems of history, theory, ritual practice of Buddhism, its place in the modern social and political life of the Buddhist regions of Russia. In the articles of the collection, arranged chronologically in reverse order - from latest to earlier, another goal is pursued, set by the author in anticipation of the interested reader: to show how over the past almost half a century in the country as a whole, in science and in Buddhism, including ideological, methodological and simply human guidelines in the approach to the study of such a large-scale cultural and historical phenomenon as Buddhism have changed. The publication is intended for undergraduates, graduate students, religious scholars, culturologists, Buddhist scholars, ethnologists, as well as for a wide range of readers interested in Buddhism and Buddhist culture in Russia.
