Martin Willisden, fifth Earl of Merton, a famous rake and ladies' man, returns to Britain from a colony in the Bahamas. On the way from the family estate to London, he rescues a beautiful young woman from the hands of kidnappers. Unable to find out the stranger's name, the intrigued and enchanted Earl of Merton calls her "beautiful Juno." During this incredible and at that time completely scandalous journey, sympathy flares up between them. In order not to compromise the lady, Martin is forced to part with her in a London suburb. He loses track of the stranger, but after some time fate brings them together again. Mutual interest develops into a deep, strong feeling. Count Merton proposes to his beloved, but as a result of the machinations of ill-wishers, Juno is forced to refuse him. However, Martin is not one of those who agree to give in. He is ready to do anything to achieve his goal and make the beautiful Juno happy.
